Bishop Triplett, Others Help Honor First A.M.E.'s Pastor
First A.M.E. Church members and friends recently got together to celebrate God's blessings at an "Oscar" style banquet and worship service honoring the 17th anniversary of the Rev. Gillard S. Glover.
Attendees walked the red carpet of an upscale Palm Coast establishment in Town Center and celebrated on the following day with guest speaker Bishop Derek T. Triplett of Hope Fellowship Church of Daytona Beach. Triplett brought his choir and church members.
The Rev. Derrick G. Jackson also was present with the members of his congregation at Dominion Fellowship Church in Palm Coast, along with the Rev. Lorenzo Laws and his members from Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Hastings.
Rev. Laws served as worship leader for the community of believers in Jesus Christ.
Triplett is one of the featured speakers for the Word Network and Trinity Broadcasting Network. He serves the community in civic, economic, youth, and educational initiatives and is the founding senior pastor of Hope Fellowship Church.
Message Focused on 'Glory to God'
He preached on the priority of moving across the ancillary without missing the meaning of Philippians 4:20-23 from the NIV interpretation. His title was: "Glory to God, Grace to the People."
Bishop Triplett taught on what's central to the believer's existence, and that's loving and blessing God and serving people. He illustrated the principle that believers ought to live between the doxology (the declaration of praise) and the benediction, and that's the centrality of the believer's existence of praising God and blessing people. It's about God and the people.
Believers on exiting the church are in need of a parting blessing, the favor of the Lord Jesus Christ, the power of the One to whom they belong, and in the process, God will take care of the details.
The Hope Fellowship Choir cut through with resonant vocal styling of "I Come to Give You Life." The First A.M.E. Choir was on the scene singing, "Highest Praise."
